It has become broadly accepted that physicians are vulnerable to stress in the workplace and the challenges of life-work balance. The NLMA is proud to sponsor the inConfidence Employee and Family Assistance Program for the members of NLMA and their immediate family, including spouse and dependent children. inConfidence is a confidential resource program available 24/7 to help you and your dependents manage personal issues at work or at home.The inConfidence program is provided by Medavie Blue Cross and counselling and information services are provided by Ceridian Canada, Ltd.


Ceridian Canada, Ltd. provides completely confidential professional counselling and information services for all Newfoundland and Labrador Medical Association members and their immediate family members through the inConfidence program. Bilingual services are available toll-free 24 hours a day. Members will have a choice of skilled and highly-trained counsellors available to you and your immediate family in your community, in a neighbouring community, by telephone, video (live via Webcam), online and in-person. No matter where you're located or the type of challenge you're facing, our network of counsellors can provide you with high-quality support on a wide variety of issues such as: 




  • Emotional well-being;
  • Health and disability;
  • Work;
  • Managing people; 
  • Education;
  • Legal;
  • Financial;
  • Relationships
  • Parenting and childcare;
  • Midlife and retirement;

The NLMA takes your privacy seriously and can assure you of the privacy and confidentiality of the inConfidence program. All reports, client information and counselling are protected. The program meets the privacy standards of the Council on Accreditation, Employee Assistance Society of North America, and the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act.

 M​obile App


Ceridian’s free “LifeWorks Mobile” app is formatted for easy navigation on your iPhone, Android, or BlackBerry. The app allows you to listen to podcasts and audio tracks, read articles and digital booklets and see what’s new in the monthly features. ​​​The user ID and password is the same login you use to log into the InConfidence website. The app can also connect you with an EAP/EFAP consultant by clicking on “Need help/assistance” at the bottom of the screen.
