Submitted Article

NLMA scholarship winner Michael Organ (second from left) and Sammy Khalili (unable to attend) received Newfoundland and Labrador Medical Association Awards at an awards luncheon October 23 for first and second-year medical students. The award was presented by NLMA President-Elect Dr. Elizabeth Callahan and Executive Director Robert Ritter (left) with Dr. James Rourke, Dean of Medicine at Memorial University. These awards are funded by the NLMA. Selection is based on potential interest in the organizational aspects of the profession of medicine as demonstrated by participation in leadership roles within the school.
